I left Strava.

So after 4 years at Strava, I left my job to take the leap into freelance (IN THIS ECONOMY!).

I knew I'd need to announce I'm freelancing. But hell, I couldn't just post about it. Nah, I had to be extra and drop the visuals. So I connected with my dear friend, hairstylist, and creative partner, Alexandria Ali, to capture something different.

In a time when Black women are navigating unemployment and career pivots at high rates, the salon is still our safe space. Once that cape goes on, we can vent, cry, laugh, strategize, and get a damn good silk press in the process. So I knew we had to tell my story there.

We filmed 5 mini acts. Tackling fear to audacity to frustration to clarity. Shot in one afternoon with my Durham, NC creative community.

This was the most fun I've had on a shoot in a long time.
You're going to see more of this energy from me.
